A well established membership organisation in the financial sector seek an experienced and strategic Event Manager for a 1 year contract starting at the beginning of the year. You will oversee a team of six, who run a wide range of c50 events a year, which are a valuable aspect of the organisation's overall membership proposition which helps raise the profile of the institute. The role is a strategic planning role that will support delivery of the events but concentrates on future proofing the team and its outcomes. You will work closely with the Events Director to plan the function of the team and implement processes that will be new to the company. This role is more strategic than hands on, taking on department projects and managing the relationship with an external agency, whilst ensuring the event team deliver their events on time and to budget.

* Become a key member of the planning team for a large annual event with 3000 delegates, working with internal stakeholders, external consultants and an events agency to ensure the delivery of an large exciting event.
* Improve delivery and working relationship with internal teams processes and the events
agency including minimising challenges faced.
* Take all new event requests and allocate them appropriately to a member of the events
team for delivery and keep the workload planner up to date with roles.
* Management of staff expenses and PO approval for the team.
* Prepare and deliver effective reports; budget, statistical, research, communication etc
including development of new reports as new systems are implemented.
* Full support of the team that are responsible for the management of all aspects of the
event life cycle and be onsite where needed.
* Responsible for identifying new opportunities at our current events and create new
ideas/concepts for events that will meet the needs of our Members.
* To ensure that events are integrated into a cohesive and coordinated approach to support
and reinforce the brand and grow the organisations standing as a Professional body.
* Research, review and make recommendations in relation to ensuring consistent value in
terms of suppliers, venues, speakers to the team who will manage them.
* Manage relationships with suppliers where needed ensuring standards are set and met.
* Provide support and assistance to the broader engagement team as required.

Experience:

* You will be a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual with extensive experience in
events, strategy and management from an association perspective.
* Have excellent IT skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat (PDF's), Outlook, internet and familiarity with databases and CRM systems.
* Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate
confidently and effectively with those at senior levels.
* Experience of working with an events managements CRM system, is desirable.
* Experience in using software such as Events Force is desirable.
* Have excellent attention to detail
* Experience of supplier management/project management
