A well respected financial membership organisation are looking for an ambitious Event Sales Manager who will be responsible primarily for selling sponsorship and delegate tickets, as well as leading on call campaigns across a portfolio of high profile conferences and events. You will also work alongside the wider events team to provide event feedback, research clients' needs and competitor information, as well as contribute to the long-term business objectives for the event calendar. The busy events team organise a programme of events that bring together their members, other parts of the industry, politicians, regulators and the media to discuss issues and to share views.

Key Accountabilites:

Sponsorship sales:

* Identify, pitch and prioritise potential sponsors
* Tailor sales materials, packages, marketing platforms, and activation ideas for each prospect company
* Take responsibility for conducting research and negotiating all aspects of corporate sponsorship
* Working closely with key colleagues to ensure we are leveraging and engaging corporate constituencies to maximise outcomes
* Develop and report on sponsorship sales and the prospect pipeline to all constituents

Delegate sales/marketing/data management:

* Produce a delegate sales campaign for each conference in order to meet the required P&L
* Generate post-event reports to send to delegates/sponsors
* Support the sponsorship consultant by developing an effective evaluation model for the purposes of gaining 360 information on events
* Attend third party events to increase our number of contacts, particularly in new event locations within Europe
* Manage the end-to-end administration process
* Work with the Event Administrator to ensure all payments are collected before an event takes place

Key competencies

Essential:

* Excellent spoken and written English
* Exceptional negotiator
* A creative, lateral thinker and energetic team player with a high level of enthusiasm
* A multi-tasker who is highly organised with an ability to anticipate and meet deadlines
* Ability to deputise for the Sales Consultant as and when required

Desirable:

* Experience working in a fast-paced environment, delivering a high volume of events within tight deadlines would be advantageous

Knowledge skills and experience:

Essential:

* A minimum of 2-3 years' sales experience within an events team, preferably in the financial sector
* Experienced commercial negotiator managing key strategic partnerships and relationships
* Demonstrable strategic and commercial approach towards Sales and Marketing
* Experience and understanding of data analysis and evaluation of business needs
* IT literate, especially the Microsoft Office suite and Adobe
Desirable:

* Interest in corporate design with an understanding of, and committed to, brand consistency
* Experience of developing/enhancing sales and marketing infrastructure to a website and CRM systems
* Additional European languages desirable particularly; German, Spanish, Italian
* Previous experience in a membership organisation
