This Head of Events and Marketing role for a membership organisation in London will be responsible for delivering and marketing a wide range of b2b & consumer events,courses and conferences. Working closely with a variety of committee's, you will manage and run all operational aspects of a portfolio of key events and courses for the organisation, as well as managing all the digital and general marketing to ensure the organisation raises the profile of the industry as well as ensure members are regularly communicated with and events are promoted.

Managing a member of staff who will assist you with the delivery of events, you will work closely with the Chief Executive, to strategically decide the direction of the events portfolio annually and manage the events budget for the year.

You will have a strong understanding of marketing as you will write copy for events and online education, undertake marketing activities (including development of marketing strategies), lead on digital marketing and monitor performance of activities.

Person spec:

* Minimum of 3 years' experience working in an events management role organising and delivering end to end events management and marketing
* Experience of working with event organising committee(s)
* Experience of line management and providing leadership to staff
* Demonstration of a collaborative approach and supportive style to be able to demonstrate leadership in the planning and delivery of events and marketing
* Experience of events publicity and marketing, including significant digital marketing experience
* Experience of designing and implementing effective publicity and marketing strategies
* Experience of budget management in events - of setting budgets and monitoring and reporting on budgets
* Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt one's communication style to different audiences
* Excellent organisational skills, able to balance and deliver on competing priorities
* The ability to be flexible in one's approach: to respond positively to feedback, to be service-driven, and to balance high level strategic work with hands-on day-to-day administration and management
* Creative and innovative approach to work, with the ability to respond to challenges and create novel solutions
* Ability to work under pressure and on own initiative
* High level of IT literacy with experience of using CRM systems
