A beautiful historic building with unique event spaces in the heart of London seeks an experienced Sales Manager in a proactive sales role within a team of 6 event professionals. The role will focus on the corporate market and key accounts and requires a strong understanding of the London market and agency business. This role allows a breadth of responsibility encompassing proactive and reactive sales, assisting in coaching the team in proactive sales activity to support account growth and overall success of the team. You will build relationships with venue agents and corporate buyers and prepare well written proposals that are bespoke to each client's needs.

Key Responsibilities

Sales, Business Development and Event Coordination
* Have excellent knowledge of venue capabilities, capacities, unique selling points and pricing
* Proactively find and confirm new business - Identify and generate new business leads by reaching out to new customers and developing strong relationships
* Formulate and clearly present a proactive business plan, highlighting activity across various market segments. The plan should contain a clear vision with SMART objectives and action points, which is regularly updated and shared
* Prepare and present venue presentation and virtual tour for use offsite to venue agents and corporate buyers as an interactive communication tool
* Maintain and update the client databases to ensure accuracy
* Follow up on all enquiries generated, within 24 hours, and record in the system with follow up activities. Proactive chase calls following enquiries
* Actively take responsibility for our key accounts and plans for their growth and retention
* Timely preparation of quotations, contracts and function sheets, approved by the client
* To accurately create contracts and raise invoices
* Work to achieve higher average spends through the use of effective up-selling techniques
* Record and share all client feedback and provide management with details of market feedback and competition

Marketing
* To keep up to date on all online listings content
* Complete regular competitor analysis
* To actively contribute to newsletter content and engage on social media channels to improve engagement levels and support plans for content
* To research new, and attend, networking and promotional hospitality eventsAdministration and Organisation
* Manage administration of event sheets for your own bookings, communicating accurate event operational information
* Maintain and update venue sales database; regularly increasing the quantity of contacts and improving quality

The ideal candidate:

* Will be sales driven with the ability to close business consistently and with success
* Has previous experience in proactive event sales, demonstrating success in building new business and account growth in the London venue market
* Can demonstrate development of both existing and new business sales
* Has strong negotiation skills
* Has excellent organisation and time management skills
* Has excellent numeracy skills
* Is customer focused
* Is highly competent in use of MS Office and diary management system Rendezvous (or similar)
* Is enthusiastic and committed to the job and brings creative new ideas to the table
