An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Travel & Events Operations Manager within a global media company. This newly created role will head up the travel and events department, leading a small team and managing the strategic planning and operations of a series of business travel and event based projects for their media partners.

Responsibilities will include:

* Work closely with the Head of Department to understand Travel & Events requirements and plan accordingly
* Identification of partnerships required to fulfil events briefs.
* Prepare and implement both a short and long-term action plan, where relevant, to manage and optimise profitability across Travel & Events taking into consideration agreed client objectives.
* Ongoing and accurate reporting and tracking for the Travel & Events department including against both booked and forecast activity.
* Oversee and ensure accurate data inputting from Travel & Event team members with a focus on timely responses to finance invoice queries and minimising query impact.
* Ownership of UK Accreditations (ABTA, IATA, ATOL) including processes and information required to ensure these are maintained.
* Prepare a monthly report outlining booked and forecast status v budget and accompanying details
* Identify and source required Travel & Events venues, restaurants, hotels etc to fulfil Event briefs
* Build rapport with suppliers, both existing and new as identified as relevant for our partners.
* Conduct development reviews in a timely manner and ensure objectives are written up, monitored and delivered.
* Manage team members on specific projects or briefs related to events
* Ongoing coaching and training of the Travel & Events team, providing mentoring support
* Identify and implement improvements to company practices.

Essential skills and experience

* Proven experience working within business travel and events (booking accommodation, flights etc)
* Knowledge and experience of maintaining travel accreditations; ABTA, ATOL etc
* Accustomed to working with senior level stakeholders
* Experience of managing and motivating staff
* Financial management - used to producing reports on forecasts and budgets
