This award winning venue and visitor attraction with stunning indoor and outdoor events spaces, has a brand new role available for an Events Business Development Officer to join their commercial events team. Working in a supportive team, the role will focus on the development and growth of the venue sales business through proactive selling and product development. You will also account manage client and supplier relationships to deliver sales growth and maximise profit whilst delivering exceptional customer service.

Job Purpose:

Key Responsibilities

Client management

* Respond to and proactively build client relationships to secure event sales and future repeat client business.
* Ensure excellent service levels through effective client account management.
* Develop excellent product knowledge of the venue to enable the management of complex and or bespoke client event requirements.

Financial and Reporting

* Ensure excellent systems knowledge.
* Produce monthly data and financial reports.
* Contribute to marketing, business development and bench-marking by analysing national industry and marketing trends.
* Bench-mark against industry competitors bi-annually to keep us in line with growing market

Business development and Marketing

* Identify new products to develop and promote the venue.
* Develop business relationships with events suppliers in particular for wedding enquiries.
* Write and collate content for monthly e-newsletters and internal Staff briefs
* Work with the Events Business Development Manager to develop marketing campaigns.
* Organise and deliver promotional venue events and track leads generated, sales converted from these activities and press coverage
* Actively seek promotions from suppliers to boost sales in quiet and key periods of the calendar

Skills and experience:

Essential

* Experience of working in a sales environment, ideally within a unique venue.
* Passion and desire to work in the sales, hospitality and events industry.
* Excellent customer service skills.
* Marketing and social media skills.
* Ability to work under pressure and prioritise workload according to changing business demands and deadlines.
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as good interpersonal skills
* Experienced user of events systems and databases.
* Confident and experienced user of the following IT software - MS Excel, Word and Outlook.
* Self-motivated and a team player
