This award winning supplier to the events industry is seeking a Sales Manager to join their team working from their showroom and head office in South London. Reporting into and supporting the Sales and Marketing Director, the Sales Manager will oversee a small team and will also be responsible for the smooth running of the sales office, providing account management for clients where necessary.

The Sales Manager will work across a variety of enquiries, overseeing the response from the administration team and ensuring maximum profitability is achieved as well as providing an excellent level of customer service. The role will be highly collaborative, ensuring smooth communication with all departments across sales, operations and transport teams. Some travel to client offices, venues or outdoor sites to meet with customers will also be an expected part of the role.

Other responsibilities:

* Engage and communicate with customers via incoming phone calls, showroom visits and e-mail enquiries/orders.
* Engage and communicate effectively when cold calling to win appointments and thus win new business contracts.
* Support the office manager with day to day office functions, management of the team of administrators and supporting with complaint handling.
* Resolve customer issues in a professional manner whilst following all relevant internal procedures.
* Monitor and communicate with vendors to provide a seamless service.
* Follow-up on all quotations and samples sent out in order to maximize revenue.
* Monitor and report on market competition and activities to provide relevant reports and information.

We are looking for a commercially savvy Event, Account or Sales Manager from a catering or event services background for this role. Ideally you will have experience managing a small team and will be confident managing all communications with clients. Some proactive sales will be a part of the role, but in the main the sales will come via penetration of existing accounts and knowing your products and services.

Excellent commission available on top of a generous basic salary and a great working environment.
