A beautiful historic central London venue seeks a Venue Business Development & Marketing Manager to maximise commercial income by increasing occupancy and revenue through a proactive programme of sales and marketing activity, targeting new business and increasing revenue from existing business. The ideal candidate will have experience in either proactive and/or reactive venue sales environments, with a proven track record of business development and marketing planning and activities and meeting/exceeding sales targets. Interviews for this role will take place w/c 30th October.

Main responsibilities and tasks

* Develop and implement annual business development strategy.
* Deliver the business development strategy through proactive sales initiative including warm calling, hosting cultivation events, showcases, FAM visits and agency office visits.
* Identify new sales opportunities to develop and widen the client base and increase bookings.
* Attend industry events, including trade shows, meetings, networking and showcase events to increase awareness and promote the venue.
* Develop and maintain relationships with key contacts in the industry including event agencies, suppliers, venue listing organisations and press contacts.
* Maintain and grow the sales contact database to provide valid client information for marketing and promotional activity.
* Lead on targeted promotional events.
* Be responsible for creating, implementing and managing marketing strategy, annual plan and budget.
* Conduct competitor analysis to inform strategy and proactive activities and identify new markets and opportunities.
* Create and implement email marketing, social media and digital marketing campaigns in conjunction with Head of Venues Sales Marketing.
* Enhance social media outlets and opportunities, responsible for managing current social media accounts.
* Respond quickly and efficiently to incoming sales enquires, providing appropriate information, follow up, conducting show rounds to convert enquires to bookings.
* Account manage large client relationships to ensure repeat bookings.
* Event co-ordination - liaise with internal departments to deliver the event as required.
* Maintain the events booking system to a high standard, including accurate data imputing and production of marketing reports. Also keeping a close eye on the events diary to facilitate a much higher conversion rate from provisional to confirmed events.
* Management of Venue Sales & Marketing Co-ordinator, overseeing workload and performance.
