A global media business based in Lancashire are looking for 3x Business Development Managers to work across their digital media, publishing and events divisions.

The Event role: They are looking for an ambitious and innovative Business Development Manager to develop the event through growth in revenue, yield, and increase customer exhibitor and sponsorship revenue. You will assist in growing and evolving the event through extensive phone-based exhibition sales and face to face meetings. You will be identifying new opportunities and influencing companies' events habits whilst understanding their objectives and need for ROI. Due to the ever-changing nature of the industry, this person must spot new avenues and exploit market trends to exceed revenue targets.


* Conduct sales pitches by telephone or face to face (when appropriate) to existing and

prospective clients to develop existing business and generate new business wherever


* Build and manage a sales pipeline of prospective leads by researching and identifying new opportunities in the market
* Work with other key stakeholders to manage and develop the show floor plan.
* Communicate with other departments to ensure the successful coordination of the event
* Constantly demonstrate high levels of customer service to new and existing customers
* Accurately managing records through our sales CRM and database.
* Pitch all relevant products and sales opportunities and communicate promptly to customers.
* Advise on the most effective solution to meet client needs within the media portfolio.
* Work towards and achieve pre-set sales targets.
* Attending industry events throughout the year

About you:

* Previous experience in a telephone based sales position is essential
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Solid level of event/exhibition knowledge or media sales experience - beneficial
* Strong sales ability to establish a deep understanding of the company need to provide the

relevant solution

* Have the ability to work to targets
* Ability to accurately forecast future sales
* Keep abreast of all current trends, activities and relevant news within agriculture and specific


* Have a positive, "can do" attitude
* Good working knowledge of a CRM system and Microsoft packages
* Experience of working with Salesforce - beneficial
* Effective time manager who possesses highly effective organisational skills
