A growing event and exhibition contractor, based outside Birmingham seek a General Manager to run the UK business. As part of a much larger international company, this contractor has built their UK business with a strong "yes" philosophy, always finding an outcome that is beneficial for their customers. New business comes directly from the industry as well as through acting as a supplier to one of the larger contractors in order for them to become a one-stop-shop for exhibition and event customers. The GM will act as the point of contact for that relationship, work closely with their equipment suppliers to ensure they are getting the best price on goods, managing all the key accounts, as well as looking for new business. You must have experience of managing a team, overseeing a P&L, providing excellent customer service for your clients and overseeing the smooth running of projects and a company as a whole.

Essential functions of the role:

* You will oversee the business in partnership with Leadership based internationally
* You will work with management to ensure the team are meeting standards
* You will manage a team of customer service-oriented employees on-site and in the office/warehouse
* You will manage and oversee the management and development of the installation team/crews
* You will monitor the customer service to ensure their customers are receiving excellent customer service in a timely manner
* You will oversee location inventory (warehouse and office supplies)
* You will ensure that the factory ordering and deliveries maximises efficiency
* You will monitor and evaluate efficiencies and cost effectiveness across the business
* You will implement initiatives agreed with leadership to increase service optimisation and cost control
