A fast paced event organiser with regional offices across the UK, are looking for a forward-thinking Portfolio Director to be responsible for creating and executing their ambitious plans that are continually developing across their many offices. This person will work between an office in the North of England and London where the head office is based. You will be expected to shape business strategies, plans and pricing policy that will deliver agreed revenue and profit targets for their various product portfolios and regularly report progress back to the board. They are looking for someone who is used to a fast paced environment who can help them grow their portfolio and tackle new markets.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities

* Lead the team and other heads of department to execute the best possible business strategy, with the aim to exceed targets
* Build an exceptional sales team that shares your ambition to overachieve
* Work with the product leads to set sales targets and oversee them continually manage their sales team to maximise revenue
* Ensure pipelines and future sales indicators are accurately maintained
* Overseeing all resources to deliver events (Sales, Operations, Production, Marketing)
* Forecasting and accurate budget management with good visibility of major shifts to ensure no surprises
* Constantly reviewing team resources to ensure there are sufficient people to deliver our growth objectives
* Build strong, loyal customer relationships at a senior level, developing extensive knowledge of the businesses, their key processes and profit drivers and short/medium/long term objectives
* Work with the team to develop strategies, build plans for growth and development of shows
* Budget management including event P&L ownership
* Ensure the team are building and working closely with international sales partners and colleagues to drive international sales
* Work with marketing and sales to create and deliver value added CRM strategies by customer sector to build long term high value relationships
* Oversee the recruitment, management, development of the talent to drive performance, growth and customer excellence
* Continually review customer needs, identifying business development opportunities and develop new products to meet these needs

Education and Experience

At least ten years' experience of exhibitions and 5 years senior management experience
Has planned and successfully executed exhibition launches
Can demonstrate how teams have been built, managed and developed.
Has excellent sales management ability and has consistently set and achieved targets
Experience presenting and influencing at a senior level
A track record of business/show growth
Demonstrable experience of driving high performance focused results
Must be either based around the North of England and be able to travel down to London regularly or live around London and spend 2 or 3 days in the office in the North of England.
